I've been atheist for at least 3 years now. I was brought up in a household of Christian denomination and came to my own conclusion that there could be no higher deity. I was baptized when I was a baby and I regret not having the right to choose now. I do not say the pledge of allegiance, and I'm constantly on my teacher's case about how she should not play Christmas music.
It disturbs me to see a teacher wearing a cross, bringing forth her views into an unbiased learning environment. And I would argue with a theist on religion in a heartbeat. I'm glad to be a part of this community and I notice the last post was a while ago, let's get this active again. :D
Edit: Oh oh oh!
I'm friends with (mostly) atheists so it seems.
And I'm proud to live in the state with the highest percentage of the nonreligious. 24%.
Also the lowest church-going population. 12% of the state's population.
I'm one of those 1% of atheists in the US (that admit it.) Not only admit it, but flaunt it.
And no, I don't live in California the so-called liberal state. ;D
